Milton Keynes City FC girls and ladies section have just completed their first full season 2007/2008, with u12 and u14 teams. We now have the fastest growing girls / ladies section within Milton Keynes.
The u12 team went from strength to strength and won the MKDJ7 Legue shield, which was a great achievement for a brand new team in their first season, and none of the girls had ever played for another football club before.
This season coming 2008-2009 we will have 6 girls teams competing at the following age groups.
School year age groups from September 2008
The club is commited to try and help bring a girls football league to Milton Keynes and as such is fully supporting the Bucks Girls Football League this season coming, who will provide a north bucks division for teams in Milton Keynes from u10 - u16.
Note: Girls in year 2 and 3 can play in our boys teams to develop their skills, girls can play in mixed teams upto the age of u12.
If you have any questions about girls football, please contact Jenny Brown, Milton Keynes City, Girls Football Development.
New Teams
Milton Keynes City Football Club want to create more girls teams
in all age groups, so we eventually have single age band teams.
There are lots of girls on the Westen Flank
and wider Milton Keynes area who want to play fun and competitive
football and Milton Keynes City FC want to provide teams for the
girls. But we need Coaches and Managers to volunteer to run
the teams.

Benefit of Team Sport
Football is now officially the biggest girls'
and women's sport in England.
Football is a fantastic sport for girls, not
only for keeping fit, healthy and physical development, but playing
in a football team provides the platform for developing a child's
personal and social skills.
Girlie girls play football well and enjoy playing
football. Ignore old fashion stereo types regarding girls who play
football.
Playing any team sport helps to develop aspects
of a child's personality and give them life skills which they will
take through life with them.
- Learn to be a "Team Player"
- The chance to organise and lead a team.
- Working in a Team.
- Personal commitment
- Commitment to your team.
- Builds Confidence.
- Sport is about having fun.
- How it feels to win!
- Accepting defeat, it is OK to loose a match.
- Unacceptable behaviour is not tolerated
- Pride in being part of a team.
